Always and forever, the foremost thing is maintaining the integrity of elections. The 2008 election showed that we have a long way to go in establishing a system that even gives people the chance to vote. Although several states instituted early voting, many of the polling places could not handle the numbers of people trying to vote. Long lines weeks before Election Day---lines that were long every day---proved that previous Election Days must have left many people out because this country makes voting more inconvenient than any other democracy. Making Election Day a national holiday would be one step in ensuring convenience while spotlighting the huge importance our representative democracy places on the right and responsibility of voting. There is much more to say, of course....

Officer Christopher Reid had 1.5 hours in his day to tow legally parked cars in my neighborhood and he is 2nd in command...however, when authorities are called to respond to drug activity on the same violators for two weeks, nothing is done and they come back everynight at the same time ?? Please explain Mr. Mayor. Have I moved to Hamsterdam circa The Wire ?

Wow Rashida I hear you, it feels like Newark has to raise its entire budget with its draconian ticket policies. It is insane and that court, oh brother, wear you down until you pay up.

Worked in Newark 8 years, love Newark, but I live in a safe suburb, don't have to worry about drug dealers in my streets. It sucks anyone has to deal with that all the time.
