Residents of the Wabash Valley can help brighten the holidays for Indiana soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan through an appreciation project being launched by Indiana State University.

Residents of the Wabash Valley can help brighten the holidays for Indiana soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan through an appreciation project being launched by Indiana State University.
Indiana State plans to send as many of these servicemen and women as possible a specially designed Indiana State t-shirt accompanied by so...me basic supplies that are in high demand and a personal note from the individual sponsoring the package.
Individuals may sponsor a soldier for $10. Cash and check donations will be collected at the following times and locations:
Monday, November 16, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., main vestibule of Hulman Memorial Student Union
Tuesday, November 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., main vestibule of Hulman Memorial Student Union
Wednesday, November 18, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., ISU Commons, Hulman Memorial Student Union
Saturday, November 21, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Honey Creek Mall in front of J.C. Penney’s
Monday, November 23, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., ISU Commons, Hulman Memorial Student Union
Donations, along with cards to the soldiers, can also be sent to the ISU Center for Public Service and Community Engagement, Attention: Stephanee Squires, Tirey Hall, Terre Haute, IN 47809. Questions may be directed to Squires at (812) 237-8334 or ssquires@indstate.edu. Checks should be made out to the Indiana State University Foundation. Donations need to be received by November 30.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a weeklong service trip. The trip gives you the opportunity to combined education and services to both help your national community, and helps you develop meaningful service and leadership skills that will come in handy when entering the job force.
The CPSCE will be hosting ASB trips t...o three different locations across the country:
-Kansas City, Missouri: Operation Breakthrough
Operation Break Through offers helps children who are living in poverty develop to their fullest potential by providing them a safe, loving and educational environment.
-Memphis, Tennessee: Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association
MIFA serves 60,000 individuals annually through eight programs which sustain the independence of seniors, stabilize and transform families in crisis, and equip urban teens for success.
-Maryville, Tennessee: Once Upon a Time Adventure
Once Upon A Time in Appalachia's mission focuses on the Cherokee Nation, the environment, and rural Appalachia. We cooperate with several area agencies and communities, such as the Snowbird Cherokee community, Cherokee National Forest, Sequoyah Museum, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. A unique aspect of our program is that we offer a variety of service learning projects during the week.
Any ISU student is encouraged to participate, regardless of year or area of study.

This year we w...ill be working with the Jane Adams Hull House Association which provides child care, domestic violence counseling and prevention, economic development, family services, job training, literacy training, senior services, foster care, independent living, and housing assistance for 60,000 children, families and community members each year in communities in and around Chicago.
