How far do you travel to get to church?

I travel about 20ish minutes from my church but I wonder if there are any negatives for church members if the pastor lives and hour plus away from his church-assuming it's a community type church where most of the members live within 10-15 minutes from the church?

The Croissant Shop

The Croissant Shop I am in Florida taking a long awaited vacation. My son's godfather took us to his gun range. I am not showing the kids shooting. I think If you buy a gun you are going to use it. Two questions? Should I have been crazy to allow Nat to learn so close to me with a loaded gun? Should Christians bear arms?

That's an easy one. "How many swords do we have?"

Wow, that's a great question. The right to bear arms, is not just a right we have as US citizens, but a God given right- to protect ourselves and our families. However, we are not in a society where this right is handled responsibily. We watch (and allow our children to watch) television shows, movies, video games and other vehicles which show ... See Moreand encourage gratuitous violence - including the use of guns (as well as a myriad of other weapons). So its not as simple anymore as 'the right to bear arms.' That statement has to go along with lots and lots of discussion with your children about the reality of the society we live in and our expectations of them when it comes to 'rights.' I don't own a gun or any kind of weapon (intened to be used as a weapon), but I plan to have those discussions with my children (they're 2 and 3 now). Its an individual thing that bears much more thought than just buying or not buying a gun.

I have found, there is still a power in tithing, and also giving to the poor. A person is blessed when they give, and cursed when they hide.

No, but should count it an honor to do the things needed in and outside the house of God!

here's a concept to try on sabbath: be quiet, spend time with God talking to him from the heart and listening to His voice instead of everyone else. The sabbath has become so busy with constant stimulation no quiet time. I seek solace and peace on sabbath and I am going to get it.
