Babies and children who have graduated from the Danbury Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their families are invited to attend the 13th NICU Reunion on Saturday, September 12, 2009. The special event reunites children, parents, nurses, neonatologists and pediatricians, and takes places at the Amber Room ...Colonnade, West Lawn and Patio, Route 37/Stacey Road in Danbury, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

Featured activities at the 13th Danbury Hospital NICU Reunion include light refreshments, face painting, balloon sculptures by Sparkles the Clown, and good ‘ole family fun!

While I recognize the inconvenience this poses to some employees who still smoke, who must now do do off-property, I believe this is the best step you have taken in a long time!

A question, though ... if an employee must go out to the public sidewalk in order to smoke on a break, will they still be considered to be "on the clock" and thus, covered under the hospital's insurance for workers?

To my knowledge (and I may be wrong), it's typical for employees in many industries to not be able to leave company grounds while on their paid break time. They can leave the property only after punching out. This may already be existing at the hospital.

On a side note, I saw an article yesterday where New York City is considering it a law to ban smoking on any hospital grounds or within 15 feet of entrances. Arkansas and Colorado already have similar laws.

The course covers basic overview of diabetes including practical tips for daily self-care, monitoring blood glucose, low blood sugar and high blood sugar, sick days, diet and nutrition, exercise recommendation...s, information about medications, long term complications, preventive care and personalized goal setting.
