Daniels Wood Land, Inc. We hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year! Bring on 2010!

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. Christmas time is here. Snow has begun falling over most of the country and kids everywhere are being extra nice to make sure Santa brings them what they want. We've been busy little elves, building like crazy to make sure our projects make it to their destinations. It's been another wonderful year and we're excited to... see what 2010 has in store. We'd like to thank all of you who have followed us throughout the year.

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. As mentioned, the show was an incredible success for us. We got introduced to a large group of people that otherwise we might not have ever met. We're excited about all the possibilities this may bring. We wanted to share pictures of our booth. Many people told us we had the best booth at the entire show. Enjoy!!

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. We're off to Las Vegas for IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions). Wish us luck!!

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. We built this full-size replica Boo's door from Monsters Inc. in just two weeks. It was built for a Pixar promotion on The Bonnie Hunt Show which aired this morning. An actor dressed as Sully came through the door and handed out DVDs. We captured every final detail right down to the red light above the door and the numbers on the control panel.

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. We've been working insane hours for the last 5 weeks getting ready for an amusement trade show happening next week in Las Vegas. This little fella is one of our main pieces. He stands over 10' tall and is completely detailed from head to muddy toes. There's even a toe necklace and a decomposing skull hanging from his b...elt. He's sure to be a huge hit at the show!

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. Did you know we make more than just tree houses? Johnny, our Carvin' Cowboy, fired up his chainsaw the other day and we got some pictures of his latest project. This bear bench is carved from solid redwood and features two cartoon bears on the ends.

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. In the Summer of 2008 we embarked on one of the most unique movie release promotions ever conceived. We were challenged to construct a 15' tall likeness of Eddie Murphy for the movie Meet Dave. The idea was to recreate the movie poster for a nationwide tour. Working with Gentle Giant Studios, who obtained scans of the ...actor and created 3D models, we had less than 3 weeks to complete the project before hitting the road. The giant head traveled on a trailer which contained an internal hydraulic mechanism. Once at the location, the head was slid to the rear of the trailer, lifted, and the shoulders and neck pieces were then set in place. At each stop, participants were invited inside Eddie's head and could hang out of either ear, mimicking the poster. Stops included Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Detroit, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City.

We've been wanting to build a T-Rex skull for a couple of years and we finally got the opportunity in January 2009. Built for one of our customers in NC, this fantastic creation is one of the coolest play projects we've done.
The skull measures over 7' wide by 9' long by 7' tall. The cavity inside the skull comfortably ...fits 3-4 kids who can imagine they have just made the discovery of a lifetime. Built in two pieces, an internal steel skeleton supports the upper portion, allowing children to crawl on and over this impressive playset.

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. The guys just returned from Louisiana where we installed a small wrecked pirate ship inside a dentist office waiting room. The ship has a treasure area that can be seen through a window in the bow, and a large salt water fish tank in the Captain's Quarters. A pirate, first mate, and mermaid also adorn the ship. It's a ...great place for kids to entertain themselves while they wait.

Daniels Wood Land, Inc. Johnny, one of the owner's of Daniels Wood Land, is a master chainsaw carving artist. In August, he created this cartoon shark carving for a customer near San Diego who had ordered a Deluxe Scallywag Sloop. Rather than the traditional crate and barrel stack, they upgraded to a one-of-a-kind carving. The shark, leaping ...out of the water, was positioned under the bow as though it was just about to take a huge bite out of it. It took Johnny 3 - 4 days from start to finish to carve this amazing piece.
