Dan Wilson and yes, I do love the song "Trash" from Sesame Street.

Dan Wilson still thinks that most people enjoy being lied to more than being told the truth. Like Sinatra: keep it coming, please, lie to me like you mean it. Same with the rumors and "movements" our country (nation?) is sprouting so fruitfully - I think people love rumors because of their falsehood. Lies are way more sexy than the truth, which is often dirty and dingy and dusty.

Dan Wilson is loving: Darin Back's photos, Jeremy Messersmith's green website creed, Augmentin, Mo Willems, Brad Kern's Gram Parsons playlist, playing the piano.

Dan Wilson a little kid in a "Scream" Halloween mask and little black robe scares me every time. Maybe it's my Norwegian heritage.

Dan Wilson going into Halloween with the first real winter cold... always a surprise. Been listening to "Bone Machine" by Tom Waits - maybe I'll be able to sing like him over the weekend.

Dan Wilson
seems to be a "Secret Buddhist." Here's Steve Marsh plying me with alcohol and making me sound intelligent in the subsequent edit. There are two parts.

senior writer Steve Marsh chats with Grammy Award-winning musician Dan Wilson about his tour, songwriting, and what it means to be authentic.

Dan Wilson read the book "Snow" by Orhan Pamuk on the plane back from Amsterdam. Amazing. I loved its portrayal of the artist's mind. Not always pretty.

Dan Wilson is back from Brussels and Amsterdam. Brussels, new to me, seemed amazingly beautiful and magical. Amsterdam I already know and love. At Ancienne Belgique, in Brussels, the crowd listened with heartbreakingly silent attention. At Melkweg, in Amsterdam, they talked loudly throughout my set just like people do at The Fine Line in Minneapolis. Still a great trip.

Dan Wilson now has just a few more shows before Nov. 1, when I start recording my next album of songs. Jumpy. A little breathless.

Dan Wilson just wrapped up my last session producing the new Storyhill album - like Gary Louris said, "Strip it down to what you can believe in." We did, just the two of them, nothing else. I'm excited.

Dan Wilson says it's all well and good about the breathtaking news in the papers, but what's really something is that he can now control his computer from his telephone. Does something count as a simple joy in life if it occurs at or near the apex of the entire history of applied science?

Last night played a gig at Carnegie Hall in New York. Zankel Hall is their 600-seat theater and, oh, it sure is pretty. In typical Minnesotan fashion, I did not tell my relatives and friends that I was ...

Dan Wilson shall I play "One True Love" in honor of Carole King being a New Yorker; "Your Misfortune" likewise Mike Doughty... I wonder if I have any other songs I wrote with New Yorkers.
