Great Episode! I hope I didn't give mis-information about they "crying/excited baby" I got my info from a Morning news show on the radio. We just got back from a trip to Budapest and on the leg from Frankfurt to Denver there was interestingly enough a very strange 30 YO woman in a hot pink Tracksuit wandering the aisles of the plane drunk out of her mind (She also had a toy dog under her seat). My Fiance was ready to throttle her if she walked by us one more time and bumped him.

i only took my boy on a/c AFTER he was 2 yrs old...for the EXPRESS reason that he would be able to communicate to me his hunger, pain, etc...AND i also brought PLENTY OF SNACKS AND JUICE BOXES FOR HIM...unlike so many of these LAZY moms who expect US, F/A'S to meet there chiild's every need...you gotta feel sorry for these kids, whose mothers have NO IDEA how to be a MOTHER...anticipating thier child's needs!!

Scott and Margery, I agree with you. It is not worth it sometimes to struggle with overhead space...checking the bag makes it more civilized. The airlines should make sure that the checked baggage experience is as pleasant as possible especially since many are paying for it.

As the guy who was quoted in your USA Today article pointed out, charging for carry on items might be one answer. People are not stupid, and if they can gate check for free why should they pay to leave their bags at the ticket counter??

Ah, I absolutely love your website! Most of my friends choose whom to fly with based on cost, I care about cost but experience is just as important.
I'm glad to finally have a place to talk Jetiquette & compare airline/airport experiences.

Why doesn't anyone mention we aren't even getting paid during boarding?

It would help if our overhead bins were the same on all of our airplanes, too. What fits on one plane doesn't necessarily fit on their connecting airplane. If it is "fat" it won't fit in our 757s. And what fits wheels out on one plane doesn't always on another. They think they are helping by putting them wheels out but they aren't checking to ... Read Moresee if the bin will close! Then we are delayed because they aren't listening to the pas instructing them to make sure it closes and we are trying to get up the aisle climbing over the passengers and their rollaboards (trying not to snag our pantyhose!) to go rearrange the luggage so the bins will close. Oh, there goes my back again......
