Gina Williams I would like to thank Chuck Williams and Jeff Galli for getting the dining hall back to working order for the arrival of students this coming week. The fire did a tremendous amount of damage and it is amazing that DA will be able to feed everyone again so quickly. I am thankful for the dedication of these two men to this challenge.....

And, David, if you're reading this, I really enjoyed reading your note about change, coeducation and perfection. I remember those transition days you capture so nimbly in prose, and I share your enthusiasm for the evolu...tion that has come since. I praise and marvel at the new Deerfield, and yet at the same time you provoked a flicker of nostalgia when you recalled those first clumsy days, weeks and months: "Deerfield girls quickly proved that they belonged here, and as we all got busy with classes, sat down for meals, cheered at games, and chanted... at school meetings, our boys' discomfort withered, leaving only a genderless camaraderie borne of shared experiences." Deerfield Academy We may not have beat Choate's football team this year, but we definitely prevailed in the Choate/Deerfield Annual Support Challenge. Deerfield's youngest 10 classes came in with 241 participants, to Choate's 171. Deerfield Class of 09 took the cake with 55 participants.
