Digital Blacksmiths New Promotional Video:
I just finished a promotional video for comedian and ventriloquist John Pizzi. I had a blast creating this since I decided to go back to modo and create a full "miniature Times Square" for this video. We chose that due to his New York background.

Digital Blacksmiths Wacom just announced their new Intuos4 update: a wireless Intuos4 tablet with Bluetooth. Woohoo! One less device that needs cables.

Digital Blacksmiths Very interesting read about the current trend of marketing. I completely agree with this panel's thoughts and is one reason why I've been diving head first into iPhone programming!

Digital Blacksmiths Totally geek: I have to say programming on the Mac is just pure joy.

Digital Blacksmiths As most of you know, we just released our first iPhone App. You probably also know we love our Macs (from Angie's 27 inch iMac Quad Core to my 17inch Macbook Pro). But this push by Apple into the mobile market has been remarkable and our iPhone App is the tip of the iceberg.

We want to be ready when Apple announces... the rumored Tablet (iSlate?) in a few weeks. This article by Gruber is the MOST accurate and most forward thinking article I have read to date. He nails it. This is really worth a read!

Another former Apple executive who was there at the time said the tablets kept getting shelved at Apple because Mr. Jobs, whose incisive critiques are often memorable, asked, in essence, what they were good for besides surfing the Web in the bathroom.

Digital Blacksmiths Great news... for those following our iPhone app development process, we've just gotten an email from Apple that our first iPhone app has been approved and is available for free on the iTunes App Store!

Love it! I will buy it as soon as it comes out. I fear that it may not pass the strict apple code for apps. They seem to not like caricatures! I am thinking of what happen to Tom Richmond. I hope for the best!
Cheers

Yeah, I know. But maybe his app's approval will pave the way for ours. Oh, by the way, it'll be a free app. Since it's my first app, I wanted to give it away for free. :)

Digital Blacksmiths Angie and I had a great time at the International Caricature Convention this past week. So many great artists from around the world! Also, a huge thank you to everyone who voted for Angie for the Outstanding Digital Technique Award. With over 230 artists attending, she didn't expect to win an award, so this was a great surprise and honor. Thank you!

Digital Blacksmiths The October newsletter went out last week, but with the upcoming ISCA convention this week in Ohio, we might have a 'special edition' podcast of some sort covering the activities.

Digital Blacksmiths Happy Tuesday! I'm writing the finishing touches on this month's newsletter; it's a biggie with some cool surprises! In the meantime, if you want to read last month's issue, you can do so at this link:

I have always loved creating things. Some folks show me work they have created from years gone by and I sense the great pride they feel from the work and that's great. But I have a driving energy to keep looking to the future and continue to creating new things. ...

Digital Blacksmiths Recently someone asked about how to do timelapse screencasts like we've posted before. One Digital solution: iShowU then time ramped in something like After Effects and One Analogue Solution: http://boinx.com/istopmotion/overview/ for recording real media like painting on canvas. I'm writing a tutorial to post on t...he site for each to be published shortly.

Looks good. Their page has a Mac icon and a Universal icon. Does that mean it will run on Windows?

Sorry I missed your post. The Universal icon just means it will run on Power PC Macs (pre-2006) and Intel Macs (post-2006). They changed the chips to Intel back then. For Windows, try Camtasia (I think that's the spelling)

Digital Blacksmiths Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend. I was recently talking with a friend yesterday and he told me he was having trouble playing a particular video on my site.

Could you guys pound on the site and make sure the video plays for you & let me know Windows or Mac and Firefox/Safari/Internet Explorer? Thanks a ton!
