Digital DUMBO

This month's Digital DUMBO is co-hosted by NYC Seed and Two Trees with drinks sponsored by MyBankTracker bringing together a collaborative effort from leading companies in DUMBO and the broader NYC area to discuss a topic that interests our entire community.

This month's event, titled "Growing Up" will include a panel d...iscussion on how to make the jump from a true start-up to a corporate environment capable of taking on larger projects. The panel discussion will address issues related to growing pains: Hiring, Business Development Processes, Internal Processes, Funding the growth, Morale, and Retaining start-up culture.

Panelists include:

* Sam Lessin, CEO and founder, drop.io
* Jeff Price, CEO, Tunecore
* Mark Josephson, CEO, Outside.in
* Alex Matjanec, Managing Partner, Media and Communications, MyBankTracker

The panel will be moderated by Owen Davis, Managing Director of NYC Seed.

Other fun happenings at the event:

* This month, your business card may just have you walking away with one of three prizes. MyBankTracker and Digital Dumbo will be raffling off 3 prizes on the big screen with the help of their digital Rolodex. Be sure to stop by, drop off your card and say hi to the team.
* URDB (Universal Record Database) will be recording an exclusive Digital DUMBO world record this month at the event. Make sure you're there at 6:30pm for all of the details. We promise it's going to be great and you can be part of record breaking history.
* Thanks to Two Trees Management, we've got a new space to hang out in this month. The space, an open loft-style store front located at 76 Front Street provides a true DUMBO-like feel. Check out the map for details/directions.

We're changing things up a bit this month and want to hear from you about how upcoming Digital DUMBO events should play out. We also want to keep in the tradition of serving as a platform for featuring the awesome things that the cool companies of DUMBO are working on.

So this month we're doing a Digital DUMBO Presenter... Face Off. Any company can submit what they want to show off and 2 will be selected to present for 10 minutes each. We're looking for companies to teach the audience, demo something cool they've built and keep it most importantly---INTERESTING and ENTERTAINING. Submissions must be entered by June 18th in order to give both you and us time to prepare!Read More

Digital design and technology shop Freedom + Partners will rock the house and ring in the Spring season at this month's upcoming Digital DUMBO. Based on their award winning website for Pearl Jam (www.pearljamtengame.com ) F+P will re-fashion the site and dedicate the music, the imagery and visualization to our beloved ...neighborhood between the bridges. The installation will include tunes reminiscent of Brooklyn’s past and present and the imagery will be of our local surroundings.

The event will be hosted in the Bonita lounge, located in the downstairs area of Water Street Restaurant. Just walk in and make your first right down the stairs!

Keeping with the tradition of using Digital DUMBO as a vehicle to showcase local DUMBO companies, the third Digital DUMBO will include a live demo by drop.io showing the company's new real-time collaboration features the company recently announced at the NY Tech Meetup. We invite you to join in the fun by participating... in the demo. Drop your own content from your mobile phone as the event is happening and help us create a ton of interesting and engaging content to look back on after the night ends.

Due to the large crowds Digital DUMBO has been pulling in, we'll be hosting this month's event in the main area of ReBar. We'll have the side room marked off as well if you'd like to mingle there. Plus, we've negotiated some drink specials. Note that we've also moved the event back to 6:30 vs the usual 6pm start time.
