Photo H@Ru Earlier in the week I had the chance to sit down with a photographer whose specialty is photographing flowers. As I tend to do with pro photographers – picked his brain as we chatted and took as many notes as I could. ...

I don't think you need a special species of flower to make the photograph special. You just need to see it in a new or interesting way.

I love taking pictures of flowers. No two are ever the same. Trying to capture the subtle differences is fun!

our school has an auction every year to raise $ - last year I donated 3 private sessions with me on how to use your camera - one was to get most out of your P/S and 2 were for DSLRs - there are a lot of people out there with good equip who don't know how to use it. It was fun and earned $ for the school. I also post all my photos of school events ... Read Moreto fotki.com which has password protected albums and I can select if people can download albums, buy prints (and what cost) etc. Works great for large groups. People love seeing their kids esp if they weren't able to attend the event/field trip etc.

Excellent post. Thank you.

Local homeschool groups could benefit from the 'free classes'. Or doing a video montage for a grieving family.

And then there's, NILMDTS. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is on Facebook. You can Google their national site as well. It's a non-profit organization that photographs infants or small children who have died. A very touching, important gift for grieving families. An awesome gift. (They are in need of volunteers.)
