          • Adam Pavlik I continue to think that a Diocesan approach to a school *system*, instead of a patchwork of local parishes which happen to have chosen to run parish schools, is the only way to revitalize Catholic education in the Diocese of Saginaw.

          • Kathy Hoekstra Wow.. too bad.. Adam, that's a discussion that is necessary... I wonder how the families of St. Helen and SS. Peter & Paul feel about that approach... or St. Thomas & St. Stephen for that matter?

                    • Marcia Courtright It is a beautiful worship space! Last month my husband and I attended a wedding at St. Mary's University Parish, and we were amazed at the renovations done in the worship space: beautiful, peaceful, sacred. Job well done.....the Spirit is alive and moving at St. Mary's!!! Blessings to all who have worked so hard on the project.

                    • Karl Melcher It's very nice how they renovated it to a more traditional format. Usually, it goes the other way, particularly at a school-related parish.
Are they going to put the St. Joseph/St. Mary statues on those two shelves on the right and left?

                    • Jeremy Priest there's more to do with the renovation...the main altar won't arrive until tomorrow and the baldacchino won't be up till Monday. The Joseph and Mary statues are at the entrance to the sanctuary, while those on the East wall will be dedicated to patrons of the missions: St. Francis Xavier and St. Therese of Lisieux (both of whom discovered their vocations at young ages; Xavier in particular discovered his as a university student). Yes, more to come...
