Synopsis

I am only 22, but I'm pretty sure that everyone endures a flood at least once in their life. I'm not talking about a literal flood, but rather a psychological one. It's the kind of thing that can destroy you unless you hold on tight. It's one thing failing after another. It's your life falling apart. It can throw you to drugs, to the bottle, to depression. It can threaten your belief in God and take away your hope of good things to come. It can pull you so far down that you are certain you can't go on. You feel the pressure in your chest, in your brain, even in your soul.

I have seen people in life who have drowned in the flood. They are bitter and unhappy. Life takes its toll and you can see it in their faces. But I have seen others who survive and let it carve out character in their souls. Their lives are not easier than anyone else's, yet they are happy. And happiness, now that's one of the deepest desires in all humanity.

The songs on this album are a small collection of songs written during a flood in my own life. But as I wrote them I could not see the light at the end of the tunnel. I did not know I was writing toward this album. One song was written in a few hours. Another was written over a few years. One was carefully written, a few lines each day. And the final track was written in dedication to my Savior, who extended His hand to save me from the turbulence.
