On Dec. 11, Lupita LeBario and Steve Bond decorated Mike Roman Reyes' floragraph for the Rose Parade. Lupita, Mike's mother, and Steve, Mike's heart recipient, will be traveling to Pasadena, Calif. to be part of the parade on Jan. 1, 2010. Steve will be the only rider from Arizona on the Donate Life float, with Lupita ...watching him from the stands.
Watch them live Jan. 1 on ABC, NBC and Univision at 9 a.m. Arizona time. The Donate Life float will be the fourth float of the parade so tune in early!

Donate Life Arizona Tomorrow, Lupita LeBario and Steve Bond will decorate Mike Roman Reyes’ floragraph – an artistic portrait created with floral materials – to be included in the Donate Life float of the 121st Rose Parade. Mike Roman Reyes passed away in July 2004 and his mother Lupita respected his wishes to become an organ donor. Steve... Bond is alive after receiving Reyes’ heart. Steve will be the only rider from Arizona on the Donate Life float, with Lupita watching him from the stands in Pasadena, Calif. on Jan. 1st, 2010. This year’s Donate Life float titled "New Life Rises" depicts a Phoenix in flight rising from the ashes. It is decorated with the floragraphs of 76 organ and tissue donors who, like Mike Roman Reyes, have allowed life to rise in others.

Over 9,000 cyclists will be participating in El Tour and at least one is riding to increase the number of organ donors. Every 11 minutes a name is added to the national organ transplant waiting list. Barry Guimont used to be one of them.
