The Bushwackers head back to their roots!
In these ever changing digital times where Twitter, Facebook and Myspace are used to communicate to a fan based community, strong evidence is emerging of the importance of developing fan loyalty through live performance*.
It’s no secret that live performance is the cornerstone of... a band’s success and this weekend The Bushwackers are heading back to where it all started, back to their folk music roots.
Ever since the bands early folk days in the 1970’s at the Dan O'Connell Hotel in Fitzroy, Melbourne, to the astoundingly popular Bush Dance concerts in the 1980’s to accepting a Gold Guitar Award, to the annual Tamworth Live Concerts at the Longyard, The Bushies have built a solid career for almost 40 years, spanning the nexus between country and folk music, both in Australia and internationally.
The true experience of The Bushwackers is in a live performance and as the band heads to far north Queensland for the Wintermoon Folk Festival, it’s almost a full circle moment. Folk music is where it all began for The Bushwackers and the band is eager to acknowledge the significance of performing for their loyal folk music fans.
Country music fans are also taking up the baton for The Bushwackers, and placing them at number 24 with a bullet on the Top 30 Country Tracks Chart with the first single, ‘The Good Old Days’ from the new album, Australian Songbook II. The band sends out big thanks for the support!
