Dubious Ranger Just finished an acoustic open mic cuz, hey, that's fun if you've got nothing better to do after dinner... it's all prep though for Viper Room this Saturday @ 8:30pm w/ Mass Fiction & Party Fouls, which will be one hell of a crazy show. Word to the wise: the venue is cheating bands out of door revenues, so instead of buying your tickets at the box office, support the bands by using Paypal at www.nothingroom.com, thx!

Dubious Ranger Obscure Sound just became our favorite indie blog, primarily because they spend a Pfork-ish amount of space and intellect reviewing under-the-radar releases like our new album. Oh, and it's a really well-written positive review too, which certainly helps!

The integration of humor and satire into music can be an incredibly complex process. By coming across as humorous or self-depreciatingly witty, an artist tends to imply a sort of nonchalant demeanor that can either benefit their music or prove to be the chief detriment that drags them down. ...

Dubious Ranger We were on the radio for an interview last weekend... it was silly. We also played David Bowie's Five Years in a super-twee acoustic fashion (quite unlike us) and it somehow sounds really pretty despite our hangovers.

Dubious Ranger Rangers of interest:

Dubious is playing a show this Saturday the 22nd at Ireland's 32 in the Sunset in San Francisco. We'll be showing off some new songs and delivering our special breed of organized noise that so many of you have come to know and love.

So come mosey on over. There's no cover and the place is full of belligerent Irishmen that love to fight almost as much as they love to rock. Mind-blowing polka/klezmer/rock group Sex With No Hands will play after us. If accordions could talk, they'd call a taxi to get a ride to this show and then they'd sing along to polka covers of Cum On Feel The Noize. Trust me, this will be amazing.

Dubious Ranger We're now on Pandora. For those not in the know, Pandora is an internet radio service that intelligently selects artists and songs based on musical features you like and don't like. It was awesome without us, and-- at least in my humble opinion-- it remains pretty swell now that we've been added to the tasty, mammoth selection of artists you can listen to. Go to www.pandora.com to eat the flavors...

Dubious Ranger Rangers of all creeds, shapes, and sock sizes:
We've got a show on Thursday December 20 at Edinburgh Castle in SF, 950 Geary St.

Last time we played here it rocked, plus you all got to eat lots of fish and chips and drink lots of beers on tap with names that made you feel hip. It was so hip.

So please, come again for this new show. We'll be headlining with openers The Landing and Lucid Mechanism. We promise it will be oh-so-fun.

Oh, and we're premiering a new song. It's called "Idiot," and the main hook was written by Alexander "Xavier Trenton" on guitar. Keep in mind that XT doesn't actually know how to play guitar, and then you'll understand that this song will be anything but standard fare.

Dubiously yours,
Dubious Ranger

Dubious Ranger Everybody:
We have a show tonight, Friday November 9th, at Edinburgh Castle in San Francisco at 950 Geary. It's right next to The Great American Music Hall, a place everyone in Dubious knows and loves (and one of us even works there), and it's a great venue with great drinks and general frivolity.

So come, bring friends, and enjoy the show. We come on at 10pm, and there are some other great bands that night such as Jack Conte and Gliss. Gliss is from Scotland I think and has opened for the Smashing Pumpkins, so their just swell in my book.

Come see us rock, we guarantee a fun time or else you can hate us.
