The Duivenvoorde Night is a mini arts festival in and around Duivenvoorde Castle. For eight centuries, this historic site has remained in family hands. Descendants of the first inhabitants still live here. Some parts of the castle have become a museum. In 2010, the Duivenvoorde Foundation celebrates its 50th anniversary with a series of events. On June 26 the castle and the estate will become the exceptional setting for a nocturnal mix of art, music, walkshops, food and drinks.
Highlights
The programme starts with a farmers banquet in an old barn by Amsterdam guerrilla chefs Hotmamahot. Enjoy a 3-course dinner under the stars in ancient surroundings, along performances by artists and musicans.
There will be music by a colourful collection of artists. Articulated pop-noir from Saelors, an impromptu performance by Machinefabriek and Wouter van Veldhoven, and a fairwell to arms by DNK-frontman Koen Nutters form a magical score for the setting sun.
Art plays a central role during the Nacht van Duivenvoorde. On one of the longest days of the year, and full moon at hand, the castle and the estate will become the exceptional setting for performances, walkshops and lectures by such celebrated artists as Hans Aarsman, Amie Dicke, Gabriel Lester, Michael Portnoy, Sarah van Sonsbeeck and Aynouk Tan.
Tickets
25 euros, including 3-course dinner and 1 drink (note: only available in presale) / 10 euros, without dinner (available at the door during the night).
