Dungeons & Dragons just finished checking out the “Performing the Pact” article and is building a new warlock—carefully considering which patron to forge a pact with. Bwahahaha. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/drcact/20091116

The warlock’s patron is a figure of mystery and power, lurking in the fringes of legend. Each patron, be it greedy devil or bewitching fey, is as unique as the warlocks with which it forms pacts. This ...

Had an awesome day today for the WitR game day! Four new people showed up and we had enough for two full tables, but only had one DM (me). We have two strong, dependable groups now so it's pretty awesome!

Dungeons & Dragons is reading “The Shadowmask” and thinks it’s pretty cool how R.A. Salvatore and his son, Geno, are telling a new story (with the Stone of Tymora trilogy) that also fills in some Drizzt-shaped blanks from the dark elf books.

Amen, Mikael. I have to say...it took me a couple of years to figure this out...I was just so stubborn going into 4e that it clouded my judgement. Once I let go of that frustration and started to consider what changes I would like to make to 4e, I realized the system was very intuitive and adapatable, and I finally saw it's full potential. Personally, I don't think 4e is for everyone. But there's no reason to hate on it, or its creators, or wish bankruptcy on WotC. That's just silly.

Dungeons & Dragons just picked up a greataxe, put on some furs, and belted out a loud YAWP! The Barbarian Essentials article that just went up on Dragon Magazine has a lot of interesting ideas, new material, and character-building options. (Hmm, Wizards Essentials last Friday. Barbarians today…)

Ok...I know what a good DM can do....it's not first edition but player alwasy compare themselve each other and the babarien is not fare for other player.....It wont kill the game for the DM but other player will find there caracter a lot less powerfull....and will loose interest.......like the priest in 3.5.

@ Sean: That's what's great about the structured roll-out of 4e content; the new 'hybrid' class options featured in PHB3 provide a fresh and innovative way of multiclassing that goes beyond the current feat-based system. As for the DS elements...we're really just going to have to wait and see. Classic DS required players to make 3 characters, ... Read Morestart at 3rd level, and deal with the fact that using magic stripped the world. It was a harsh setting, and I think that fits well with the 4e system. I don't think the campaign materials are going to disappoint.

I couldn't get into DS when it came out, too much survival bookkeeping, I am eager to see how it works in 4E, hopefully it will be less bean counting/dice rolls/game time spent foraging.
