Today, Joe Scarborough (CSS, 3/10/12) landed in 14th place on SALON's least favorite political pundits list, 2 slots behind David Brooks (past CSS 2010) at #12. Tomorrow, the remaining "winners" will be named. Last year's "Hack List" included some veterans of CSS fame, including Peggy Noonan (a last minute CSS "no-show" in 2011) and George Will (2007).

Conservative commentator George Will (past CSS 2007) called it "a fundamentally disrespectful approach to the selection of presidents" and Arianna Huffington (CSS, 1/14/2012) observed "the lines between a reality show and the campaign process have been getting thinner and thinner." See this moment of concord between Huffington and Will from last Sunday's ABC THIS WEEK.

Former Washington Post editorialist Mark Shields (CSS, 2/4/12) issued an plea to Republicans not to nominate Newt Gingrich, citing that an Obama/Gingrich race would "be all about Gingrich and his manifest shortcomings — political, public and personal," and therefore "avoid a debate about what went right and what went wrong in President Barack Obama’s first term."
