by Bill Becker. There’s a familiar dance being performed on the world stage. It’s called the Climate Shuffle. The music is the increasing pace of greenhouse gas emissions as the scientific evidence on which policy makers have depended significantly underestimated the speed of climate change.

Lots of talk, lots of photo opps, but mangrove and jungle still being cut down so people can have hotel rooms near the coast and play golf in the once vibrant jungles. Too sad.

Data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA show 2005 has topped 1998. "The last 10 years are the warmest 10-year period of the modern record," said NOAA climate monitoring chief Deke Arndt. Saying there's a downward trend since 1998 is not scientifically legitimate.

Polar caps keep melting.
Still way too hot and feel like 2 seasons are missing.
The affects of man-made devises is what contributed to this.
I take it very serious and we living on this planet need to do our best to reverse the problem to get the downward trend.

350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis--the solutions that justice demand. Our mission is to inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis--to create a new sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet. ... Our focus is on the number 350--as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. But 350 is more than a number--it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet. To tackle climate change we need to move quickly, and we need to act in unison--and 2009 will be an absolutely crucial year. This December, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to craft a new global treaty on cutting emissions. The problem is, the treaty currently on the table doesn't meet the severity of the climate crisis--it doesn't pass the 350 test. In order to unite the public, media, and our political leaders behind the 350 goal, we're harnessing the power of the internet to coordinate a planetary day of action on October 24, 2009. We hope to have actions at hundreds of iconic places around the world - from the Taj Mahal to the Great Barrier Reef to your community - and clear message to world leaders: the solutions to climate change must be equitable, they must be grounded in science, and they must meet the scale of the crisis. If an international grassroots movement holds our leaders accountable to the latest climate science, we can start the global transformation we so desperately need.Read More

I hope that America finally takes responsibility for its part in global climate change and leads the world in reducing carbon emission and also needs to address the damage to the planet that has already ocurred. We have to quit burrying our heads in the sand and address the real problems and not just putting bandaids that won't have any lasting effects.

I think the better way which we can debate the environmental issues with leaders and politician now is force them by displaying the scientific evidence regarding the climate change and its effects on our lives and environment as well.furthermore, trying to do some efforts on ground by environmentalist which it shows the risk expects for near future on our planet if they continue to ignore the undoubted crisis.

by KJ Wetherholt. We can no longer wait to do our soul searching until after middle age—we’d better find what’s important to us now and we’d better act on it for the benefit of more than just ourselves. President Obama's trip to Copenhagen to support the Chicago Olympic bid has been pilloried by his critics who cite more pressing matters, such as the economy and war. What these critics have missed was that President Obama was in Copenhagen for exactly those two reasons: the economy and war.

Obama can't win no matter what choicehe makes because the GOP will always find fault. I do think he should of sent Michelle, Oprah and the mayor of Chicago. It was noble idea to go and it would improve the mid west economy.
U.S. is suffering the backlash of Bush administration and the Olympic International Commitee was going to vote against the U.S. at this time.We are in 2 wars and this is not popular with foreign countries.
