While listening to the recent environment report about recycling, I had a thought about "zero waste". Along with "zero emissions" these tag lines give the false sense of limitless possibilities. Our fossil fuel consumption can only become so efficient. Sure, 100 mpg may be attainable, then what? Certaily not 1000, 500, and probably not 200.
... Read MoreWe need to change the way people think of these limits. How about gallons per 100 miles. There is a limit to the least amount of energy created from a given fuel.
The same applies to recycling. We should design products with materials that can be extracted and reused, but can everything? How about percent recycleability per given volume, weight, or amount, ie. X% per Ton.

Thanks for covering these issues Environment Report. Personally I think that pharmaceutical companies should reduce their profit & increase parents comfort by completely eliminating the use of thimerosal as a preservative. As long as there is uncertainty, there is no reason for potential risk. Every aspect of health care should place health & wellness above profit.
