Thanks everyone. I'm glad many of you were able to get some value out of it. I've already received many positive e-mails about it so I thank you.

It actual took quite some time to write and an even longer time obtain E&Y's legal sign off before I could post it anywhere online. My hope is that someone from the E&Y careers site could place a ... Read Morelink to the article in a more prominent location so candidates can find it. Or at a minimum post an entry on the wall so people are aware it exists.

My goal is to share my perspective on the professional services career path with as many folks as possible. I would appreciate your support to help share the article with those that might appreciate the insight.

Jared - Due to the number of recruiting resources that we have available, there are only so many campuses we can visit in an academic year. It's not an indication of disinterest at all - just a matter of supply and demand. The best thing to do is prepare yourself to be considered for an experienced position down the road. This means doing 2 things: 1) passing the CPA exam as soon as you can, and 2) gaining some relevant experience, perhaps at a local or regional accounting firm. If you can do both of those things, you will greatly increase your chances of being considered for a position at EY (or any accounting firm) three or four years down the road. ... Read More

Jae Lim Hello! I graduated UNLV(3.5 GPA) majored in hospitality management in 2006. I was working at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas as an accountant. I am getting my masters in accounting at PSU(3.7 GPA) in CA and working on the CPA exam. I had some public accouting office experience as well.
