Get your annual music and culture fix at the 30th annual Calgary Folk Music Festival. See over 62 artists from 13 countries on 7 stages July 23-26 at Prince's Island Park.
The Festival is Calgary's largest, most prominent annual gathering of original, independent artists in a creative, multi-faceted artistic program tha...t combines some of the finest: roots, world music, country, alternative, blues, funk, dub, bluegrass, celtic, traditional (and more) artists from our own backyard and the globe. From influential artists who began making music in the ‘60s and ‘70s to innovative artists whose music was created in the last decade, it's an ear-opening journey into the heart and soul of the roots and evolution of the music we like to call folk.
It's a festival of discovery with a relaxed atmosphere and an incredibly cool vibe. The site features a family area with interactive activities and entertainment, an international craft market, global culinary delights, a record tent and tree-shaded beer garden. We have plate and cup recycling to composting, secured bicycle parking and are wind-powered. There's plenty of shade and covered viewing areas for seniors and the disabled.
Come early, set up your tarp, blankets and chairs in front of mainstage daily for your evening viewing pleasure. During the day, take in our ever-evolving programming on 6 stages in the park, where musicians collaborate in unpredictable, exquisite songwriter-in-the-round and themed sessions.Read More

Pride Toronto today announced the names of many of the talented performers and musical acts that will take to Pride's stages over Pride Weekend. Live in concert on the same stage are blast-from-the-past icons ABC, Wang Chung, Heaven 17 and Cutting Crew, performing on Sunday June 28 on The Wellesley Stage.
Also taking th...e mainstage on Sunday June 28 is Toronto born diva Deborah Cox who recently received a certified gold record for her #1 smash hit ‘Beautiful U R'. Newly crowned musical sensation Divine Brown will also make a headlining appearance on Sunday June 28.
Local indie favourites The Cliks and Dance Yourself to Death return to the Pride stages with performances as well as the new ‘it' boy Gentleman Reg.
The one and only Carole Pope returns to Toronto Pride performing at Dyke Day Afternoon (Saturday June 27) alongside Ferron and Samantha Parton (of Be Good Tanyas fame).
Also confirmed are The Carps, Woodhands, superstars Fritz Helder & The Phantoms and returning to Toronto in 2009 is Canada's own Esthero to thrill Pride party and music lovers.
Rounding out the diverse and thrilling live musical acts are DJ's Denise Benson, Jamie Sin, Will Munro, Zahra Dhanani, Nik Red, and Cozmic Cat.
