Roger Alcantara - Bass Player/Photojournalist Date of Birth: September 19, 1979 Gear: Aria STB-JB-DX/5 Mister Nobody 5-string signature bass, Aria STB-JB Mister Nobody 4-string signature bass, Ashdown Engineering Little Giant 350 micro bass amp, Ashdown MAG-210T deep cabinet Roger Alcantara (also known as Mister Nob...ody) took up Communication Arts (specializing in photography) at the De La Salle University. This is where he met Pepe Manikan and together with Chad Robles and Loubert Vidal eventually formed the progressive metal band Eternal Now. Roger (known for wearing masks in gigs as a gimmick, thus the Mister Nobody alyas) started playing bass during his 2nd year in high school. His mentor was Berklee College of Music Scholar and Standard Pleasure Model bassist Louis Andre Ochoa. Since then he has played with Lemon Tears and the Sourgrapes (fronted by Moonstar 88’s May Chelle Baay), Wickermoss, and of course Eternal Now. In 2006 Roger became the first Filipino endorser of Aria bass guitars. He has conducted bass clinics to promote the brand and also to propagate awareness and interest about the bass and its limitless potential. Being a lover of the bass, Roger also put up a forum for bassists called Subsonic Pinoy, and with the help of another online community called The Bass Place, they organize get togethers to gather bassists so they could interact, share ideas, and jam. Besides being the bassist of Eternal Now, Roger is also a professional photographer who has worked for The Manila Times and the Manila Bulletin. Some of his photographic work has won major photo-contests. He is also currently Product Specialist for the bass division of Forerunner Technologies Inc, handling major brands such as Ashdown Engineering, Crate, and Ampeg.
