Every day over 700,000 people go hungry in Southeast Michigan. That’s nearly 1 in 5 residents - which means it could be your neighbor, your co-worker, or even your friend.
The need for food is quickly rising to the top as a basic necessity that is not being met. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. There are things we can do to ensure no one has to go without.
The first step is to talk about it and shed light on the serious issue that’s about to hit our region head-on.
And that's what the June 21st Tweet-a-Thon is all about - an opportunity to spread the word about the rising need for food in a new, and fun, way.
