DJ Profiles
J Majik
Though he's one of the youngest members of the Metalheadz stable, Jamie Spratling debuted back in 1992 with tracks recorded for the Planet Earth label. Similar to the other Metalheadz, Majik's 12"s are dark affairs, with some of the best drum'n'bass lines around, though he leavens the brew with jazzy flourishes, like the Spanish guitar prevalent on the flip side of his first single for Metalheadz, "Your Sound". Living in Northwood, England, he began DJing in the early '90s -- while in his early teens -- and recorded "6 Million Ways to Die" in 1992 as DJ Dextrous. Two more singles followed for Planet Earth before the real DJ Dextrous became known to him, after which he turned to the alias J. Majik for his 1994 debut on Metalheadz, "Your Sound". The track was an undeniable classic, and later showed up on the Platinum Breakz compilation. Besides later singles for Metalheadz such as "Jim Kutta" and "Arabian Knights", Majik records for Mo'Wax as well as his own Infra Red label, which released his debut LP, Slow Motion, in mid-1997. After this he could put others anthems into the clubs: "The Lizard", "24 Hrs", "Next Generation", "Capoeira" and "No Badness".

Rico
Dj rico entered the drum n bass scene from the age of about 17 when he accuired his 1st pair of decks. he progressed through the mixing ranks for about 2 years untill he met with "dj millward and mc scoop" who were already playing at local events for local people. rico ,milward and scoop then teamed up for b2b sets wich saw the trio playing at some well known events such as deepcover (hastings pier) and pure science ( atomics, maidstone).
By this time rico, milward and scoop had tried there hand to producing on an amiga 1200 and pressing them on dub @ music house to play on there sets.
As time progressed it saw the closure of deepcover and pure science which was a major blow to their djing and eventually saw the fall of milward and rico.
Still producing and now using professional software "cubase" rico's knowledge grew and started to produce quality sounding tracks. his 1st release was picked up by "Easy Records" (phantasy's label) a track called house of death by himself and flat mate Toby Johnson aka (dj shoby) under the alias half life ...
From there rico's hunger for more grew and so has his release list notching t.o.v and close to death recs to his bed post. (to name a few)
The releases still come not just from other labels but on their own outlet Dangerous New Age recs who is managed and run by best friend scooooops.
