Description

The seventh annual Kenmore Summer Concert Series, co-sponsored by Bastyr University, kicks off July 2 with Hawaiian slack key guitarist Patrick Landeza and his band of hula dancers.
This free community event is the first of eight concerts — each featuring a different style of music from around the globe — on consecutive Thursdays through the end of August. All concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Saint Edward State Park adjacent to the University's campus.
The open stage at the park is an ideal location to relax and enjoy a casual evening amidst the park’s natural beauty. Visitors are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners to share a special summer night under the open sky. Safeway will be on-site selling food to support cancer research.
Concerts are as follows:
July 2: Hawaiian slack key guitarist Patrick Landeza
July 9: Canadian fiddle champion April Verch
July 16: Bluegrass with a twist ... Danny Barnes Acoustic Band
July 23: Reggae infused dance music ... the Yogoman Burning Band
July 30: American roots and rockabilly music ... Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys
August 6: Fermenting folk music ... Crooked Still
August 13: A new experience in Chicano music ... Quetzal
August 20: Zany music from the cabaret ... Vagabond Opera
