MALAJUBE, le groupe indie-rock montréalais, sera la tête d’affiche de la 4e édition du FROCHE 2009.
Malajube sera précédé de KONFLIT, la formation électro-frogressive qui lancera son 5e album SHIFT (E.P.).
Après New York, Paris, Berlin, Austin et Tokyo, c’est à Sudbury d’accueillir Malajube, qui a pris d’assaut la scène rock indépendante depuis la sortie de son premier opus, Le Compte Complet (avec des vidéosclips étrangement l’fun tel que Le jus de citron http://vimeo.com/1907135 et Le Métronome http://vimeo.com/1901584 et une présence scénique explosive).
Avec son deuxième album Trompe-l’œil (2006), le groupe se démarque dans la foisonnante scène musicale montréalaise grâce à un son unique qui lui vaut une renommée internationale.
C’est du rock qui te blast dans ‘face. Au terme d’un répit bien mérité et après avoir consacré près d’une année à la production de Labyrinthes (paru le 10 février 2009), le nouvel album les mènera aux quatre coins du monde. Un album planant, progressif au coeur de rock, piano pop-pointu comme on l’adore… + chants grégoriens!

Originaire de Sudbury, la formation électro-frog-prog Konflit lancera son nouvel album E.P. intitulé SHIFT lors de la soirée du Froche.
En 11 ans de carrière, Konflit s’est montré maître des alliages en donnant tour à tour dans le rap rageur et dansant, le rock dénonciateur et mélodique, et le techno-rock rassembleur mais intimiste. Armé de l’étonnante capacité de se transformer sans se trahir, le groupe est aujourd’hui au sommet de son art.

Il va aussi y avoir du Kettle Corn, notre vendeur à hot-dog préféré et bien sûr Foysey's sera là pour servir de délicieux Fruit Bubblers et du bon cidre de pommes chaude.
Apporte du cash car l'accès à la machine ATM est limité. Santé!

After New York, Paris and Tokyo, MALAJUBE is coming to Sudbury to headline the 4th annual edition of FROCHE 2009.
Sudbury grown and now Montreal based KONFLIT will open the night with the launch their new album SHIFT.
MALAJUBE
This group that has taken the indie rock scene by storm.
Malajube is one of the best indie bands around, not matter what language you speak. They sing in french. But even french people don't know what they're singing about.
The group’s impressively rich and rounded live sound (heard on its first album, Le Compte complet, in 2004) brought it instant fame in Montreal, a town where you have to be more than good to be noticed. Trompe l’oeil, Malajube’s second album produced in 2006 really got the buzz going everywhere else. They toured over 50 shows in the deep United States, toured Europe, even Asia. After a well deserved break and almost a year devoted to producing its third album LABYRINTHES, launched in February 2009, Malajube will be touring extensively in Canada, the States and world-wide.
Malajube has been applauded by music critics in a host of publications like the New York Times, NME, Pitchfok, Wired, The Fader, Filter, Spin, Penthouse, Men’s Health Journal and Vanity Fair, to name just a few. Its latest album Labyrinthes is a finalist for the Polaris Music Prize (Best Canadian Album). They are on Barack Obama's iPod after their song Montréal -40 got on to CBC's 49 songs for Obama playlist. Its earlier album garnered three Juno nominations in 2007 and the Felix Award (French Canada’s equivalent to the Juno) for Best Success Outside Quebec, Best Alternative Album and Album Cover of the Year.

KONFLIT : SHIFT E.P. LAUNCH
Montreal-based Konflit is originally from Sudbury and will launch its fifth album, SHIFT, at FROCHE 2009.
Over the course of eleven years, Konflit’s electorock sound has constantly mutated yet always remained true to itself, convincingly combining seemingly antagonistic genres in its successive albums: raging rap with dance beats, heavy rock with catchy melodies, crowd melding techno-rock with an intimate slant.
Konflit won the APCM’s Trille Or award for Best Album and Best Web Site last year.
