During the month of July, the Airship Ventures’ zeppelin will be flying over the Bay Area sporting the 23andMe logo. Even though technically the airship is a zeppelin, people have already been Tweeting, taking photos, and blogging about the “blimp”, so we’re going to keep calling it that.
And to highlight this occasion, 23andMe is hosting a “BLIMP” SPOTTING contest.
The people who take the coolest photos of the “blimp” and post them will have a chance to win a $50 discount on a 23andMe spit kit! What do we mean by “coolest”? In other words, a close-up photo of the “blimp” eclipsing the sun is more interesting than a photo of the “blimp” from far, far away. (That’s just an example; be creative! Surprise us!)
Post your photo on one of the following:
1) Flickr (tag the photo with “23andMe” and “blimp”)
2) Facebook (post the photo on the 23andMe Fan page wall)
3) Twitter via Twitpic, and use the hashtag #23andMeblimp
4) Email the photo to zeppelin@23andme.com
As we receive the photos, we will upload them in an album on the 23andMe fan page. To vote in the contest, click “Like” on a particular photo. The five photos with the greatest number of “Likes” will receive the $50 discount codes for 23andMe’s full Personal Genomic Service. You can also choose to receive 23andMe swag instead of the $50 discount code. Anyone can vote, and you can “Like” as many photos as you want.
After the contest ends, we will take the five photos with the greatest number of “Likes” and notify the winners.
