Description

While the profile of Chapel Hill and Carrboro is always in flux, there remains a constant need for talented leaders. Leadership Chapel Hill-Carrboro - now in its 25th year - is a 10-week, intensive program designed to develop a continual pool of leadership talent for our Chapel Hill-Carrboro community. The program challenges participants to increase their leadership potential by better understanding themselves, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community, and the skills necessary to lead. Twenty-five participants will learn from today's leaders about the social, cultural, political and economic facets of our community, as well as participate in team-building exercises and skills curriculum taught by local experts.

Through exchange of ideas, community experiences and leadership skill-building sessions, Leadership participants begin to develop specific interests in the concerns of their community and emerge equipped with the skills and knowledge to positively affect their communities. Leadership participants complete the Leadership “Passport,” an agenda of community projects and exercises, as well as the Small Miracles® project, which pairs Leadership students with area non-profit organizations to learn about the missions and needs of those organizations.
