Please join The Sandbar in celebrating 20 years in beautiful Downtown Lawrence!
On Saturday, August 1, we will host a birthday party on 8th Street in front of The Sandbar. 8th Street between Massachusetts and New Hampshire will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.
At 8 p.m. Mark Valentine and the Number Ones will perform a live concert featuring our favorite jukebox and float songs. The stage will be set up at the east end of 8th Street.
Our favorite pirate will host the event; dancing showgirls and mystery guests will be there too. Enjoy the KU Bar Band, which began at The Sandbar!
This event is free and open to the public. It is a family-friendly event, so bring your kids! Bottled water, soda, and food will be available for purchase.
No alcohol will be allowed in the street. We will extend our front patio with a beer garden just for that night.
Dress up in your favorite costume from one of our St. Patrick's Day floats, as your favorite sea character, or as a Parrothead!

UPDATE: There will be a $5 cover charge to enter the bar/beer garden area. You'll receive a wristband when you pay cover which will allow you to re-enter without paying cover again.
