Description

Traverse Poetry hosts a free opportunity for young people to learn the basics of making hip-hop music with superstar DJ and rap duo D’Opus & Roshambo.

Workshop facilitators D’Opus & Roshambo (bmamag.com/bands/show/dopus-roshambo) are some of Canberra’s hardest working hip-hop artists. The duo have been working together since 2006 recording and playing gigs locally and nationally, including Stonefest, Trackside, Corinbank and Tasmania’s Soundscape Festival. ‘Million Dollar Bill’ — the first cut of their debut album, The Switch — has given the boys massive airplay both here and overseas.

Fifteen people under the age of 30 will get the chance to be guided by D’Opus & Roshambo through the process of creating a song — from finding inspiration and writing lyrics to experimenting with samples and building beats.

Hip-Hop Shop will run once only — there are limited places so please book now:
