Description
Check out the artwork displayed in the window at Barra Inc., 2100 Milvia St. in Berkeley. The new exhibition features works by Miriam Dym and Jeff Hantman. The exhibition continues until Spring 2010.
Exhibit is up from:
August 6, 2009 - February 6, 2010
Miriam Dym, a 2005 fellowship winner, makes installation works. She focuses on humans’ interactions with the things they make (functional things and also fetish objects). Dym incorporates her art practice into her domestic sphere, creating a system where nothing is wasted.

Jeff Hantman, winner of 2009 fellowship award, creates his work on wood by constructing and de-constructing smaller pieces together to form new compositions. This technique continues to his most recent body of work where he uses multiple panels of found wood which are assembled to create curved structures that hang of the wall.
