Description
What's happening this month?
This month Lates investigates the birds and the bees. No, we’ve not decided to join forces with the Natural History Museum, more the subject under discussion is Sex and Science.
Join Dr Petra Boynton to explore the myths and realities of sex, we engage in a spot of speed dating, Punk Science show off their bits – prepare yourself for accurate reconstructions of weird activities in the animal kingdom – and the Barry White of seafood is here for you to try – there’s a free oyster for every customer!
Learn how to improve that smouldering salsa attitude with a quick lesson in salsa dancing, move your body to some slinky tunes at the Silent Disco, and if you’re wondering why you dance the way you do, Dr Peter Lovatt discusses “Dance, Hormones and Sexual Selection”. You too can determine who you will find hot, or not, on the dance floor...
Finally, the regular Lates events will be up for it as usual – the Pub Quiz goes all “lurve”, we’ll have the usual great selection of gallery tours, the pedal sessions return after a triumphant first showing last month and if you want to get away from it all, go off by yourself and try a bit of rubbing. No, brass rubbing.
**What's Lates?
Science Museum Lates is the exciting adults only event, held once a month, that invites you to experience the Science Museum after hours. So if you want an entertaining free night out, Lates is the place to be.
Lates provides the opportunity to explore the museum’s most popular exhibitions away from children. The museum is packed with over 50 interactive exhibits for you to get your hands on and each Lates has a varied programme of entertainment.
