Description
As news outlets shrink in a faltering economy and professional sports organizations launch their own networks, what role does sports journalism still play in society? There is a far greater story to tell about the power of sport in society, but is there still room for these stories or has sports journalism been reduced to box scores and marketing tactics?
Sports journalist Justin Rice will engage participants in a conversation about why society is increasingly being left out of sports media; we will examine past and present writers whose work has contributed to this dying field of journalism and discuss what future lays ahead for sports media at large.
