Art show and potluck to benefit Student Farm Worker Alliance.
Drums, dancing, friends and food.
The Belmont house Saturday, March 29th 5-10 pm (1830belmont.com)
If you are an artist and would like to show your art contact Graciela Lopez at Graciela@sfalliance.org. (Be sure to bring it in by 4:00pm so we can hang it.)
Corporate farms growing tomatoes for Burger King keep getting in trouble for slave labor. Even the "legit" farms practice a type of modern day slavery: to make the minimum wage farmers must pick 2 tons of tomatoes a day.
Students and farmworkers stood together in solidarity to pressure McDonalds and Taco Bell to give in to our demands. They now pay tomato farmrworkers a livable wage. Burger King does not.
Come enjoy community, buy art, fight corporate greed and stand in solidarity with farm workers in their struggle against Burger King for dignity and a livable wage.
Also, it is a pot luck, so be sure to bring a dish full of love!
