Description
The VLRFC Friends and Family day is a long standing tradition whereby all the Lions invite along their mates to one game to cheer us on and we get a chance to thank you for your support with food, drink and some quality rugby.
Mens A & B, Womens and Old Boys will play on the day. A BBQ will be held at the ground at the conclusion of the matches.
The games start at 11am with the Lion Kings before the Women and then the Men face strong league opponent Monmouth. After the games a social will be held at the pitch.
The Lions will be playing on Field 74 at Randall's Island, underneath the Triborough Bridge. The island can be accessed by cab or bus, the easiest point of access is by walking over the footbridge at 103rd st.
All are welcome! Please RSVP so we have an idea on numbers we'll be supplying for. No need to bring anything but your warmed up vocal chords!

By Foot/public transportation
The fastest way from Manhattan is via the footbridge on 103rd St.
Take the 4, 5, or 6 Lexington Ave. trains to 125th St., then transfer on the NW corner of 125th St. and Lexington Ave. for the M35 bus to Randall's Island. To download the M35 bus schedule:

From Long Island and Queens: Take the 7 train or the L.I.R.R. to 61st St. and Woodside, then transfer to the X81 Express Bus (61st St. and Roosevelt Ave.). It runs nonstop to and from Randall's Island. For more information, log onto www.mta.info.

Please note: once on Randall’s follow the signs to East River Fields and/or Field 74.
From Manhattan:
Get on the Triborough Bridge at East 125th Street. Stay left for the exit to Randall's Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From Long Island and Queens:
Get on the Triborough Bridge from the Grand Central Parkway. Stay right for the exit to Randall's Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From the Bronx:
Take the Major Deegan or Bruckner Expressway to the Triborough Bridge.
Stay right for the exit to Randall's Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
From Brooklyn:
Take the FDR Drive North to the Triborough Bridge exit (on right).
Stay left up to and after the toll, following the signs to Randall's Island.
From New Jersey:
From I-80 or the New Jersey Turnpike, get onto the George Washington
Bridge. Follow signs for "Through Traffic" (on the upper level, stay to the left; on the lower-level, stay to the right) to get onto the Cross Bronx Expressway, then take the Harlem River Drive/Amsterdam Avenue exit. Keep left onto the Harlem River Drive, then stay straight to take the FDR Drive South to the Triborough Bridge. On the Bridge, stay left for the exit to Randall's Island, immediately after the toll plaza.
