It's something that we probably hear used frequntly and most of us probably don't even bother to think about how hurtful the word truly is. The use of the "R" word is offensive to many people and needs to be put to a stop.
Join us at 7 p.m. on Monday Oct. 12 at the Plachta auditorium on the campus of Central Michigan University for an educational presentation about how harsh and crude the use of the "R" word actually is. Admission is free and this event is open to the public.
Four Special Olympics Michigan athletes will be on hand to have a discussion about their experiences with the use of the "R" word and how it has affected them.
The athletes on the panel are; Carla McNerney, Michelle Trombley, David "Big Daddy" Peterson and Connie Florian.
Come on out for a night of education and enlightenment with Special Olympics Michigan!
