James Gifford, Professor Emeritus of Humanities, Mohawk Valley Community College, will lead the discussion.
This love story and murder-mystery focuses on the lives of four young American artists living in Italy in the mid- nineteenth century. So taken were Victorians with Hawthorne’s romantic descriptions of classic art and sites of Italy, this novel became a favorite travel guide for tourists in Rome.
