Description
The inaugural HALLOWEEN MONSTER MASH at the Annandale is shaping up to be a show unlike any you’ve ever seen. Presented by TUSK MUSIC, UMBRELLA & 2SER the gig boasts a massive seven band bill (plus DJs), showcasing a selection of Sydney’s most thrilling young musical alumni. Every band will perform dressed in costume as another band, opening their set with a cover from their alter ego’s catalogue…
But the party doesn’t stop there. The haunted halls of the Annandale will be teeming with magicians, jugglers, contortionists, sword swallowers and all manner of ghouls and ghosts. There’ll be pumpkin carving, best-dressed prizes, a themed art exhibition, trick or treat bags and so much more…

The bands appearing are as follows:
SEEKAE use synthesizers, drum machines, glockenspiels, guitars, software, melodicas and spoons to create lush soundscapes and beautiful electronic pop. The music press have embraced this stunning group, with the likes of Rolling Stone awarding their debut album a glowing 4 star review.
DEEP SEA ARCADE’s impressively ethereal, reverb-drenched sound recalls The Zombies and The Kinks; with waves of psychedelia and watery guitars. The band performed at Homebake 2008 and have played alongside acts as diverse as Bluejuice, Yves Klein Blue, Holly Throsby and Jack Ladder.
RICHARD IN YOUR MIND find freedom in the unrestrained possibilities of experimental pop music. They are renowned for their engaging live shows, which often feature exploding confetti canons, psychedelic lights and gongs, all alongside the undeniable charisma of frontman Richard Cartwright.
TOKENVIEW make cinematic contemporary rock, laced with 60s-style harmonies from dual singers Ed Prescott & Brett Clemenson. Their soon-to-be-released debut album ‘Patience at Sea’ features an amazing array of guest appearances from The Basics, Rob Hirst (Midnight Oil) and Washington.
MEGASTICK FANFARE are guaranteed to rock your party in the most irreverent way. With a live show that’s consistently danceable and endlessly creative, they have been described by Triple J’s Dom Alessio as ‘part tropicana, part avant-indie, part totally awesome!’ And that’s just one song!
WE SAY BAMBOULEE have steadily built a reputation as one of the more intriguing and innovative new acts on the Sydney scene. Synth-based, but incorporating a wide range of influences, from Caribou and Battles to The Knife and The Shins, this act defies description and must be experienced first-hand.
KIDS AT RISK’s combination of quirky lyrics, versatile vocals, buoyant energy and playful sonic exploration has led to brewing industry buzz about this relatively new and exciting band. With a sound that nods to XTC, The Cure and The Pixies, their refreshing live show is not-to-be-missed.
So piece together a creepy costume, throw on your best dancing shoes and brace yourself for what will surely be one of the best parties of the year.
