Hi all ... as the first step to social network activism training, we're going to do a couple of short sessions on Twitter tomorrow in the ramp-up to Wednesday's HJC hearing. Hopefully folks can make it to one or the other:

* 10-10:30 a.m. Pacific/1-1:30 Eastern
* 5-5:30 p.m. Pacific/8-8:30 Eastern
Goals
1. Understanding of the different ways we're using Twitter and the #patriotact hashtag: for communication, for feedback to politicians, to get media attention, to amplify our message
2. Awareness of and comfort level with different Twitter technologies: retweeting and "tweeting points", Twazzup, act.ly
3. Feedback on what other training materials are needed
Draft Agenda
1. Introduction: The Patriot Act reauthorization debates and Twitter's role in activism (3-5 min)
2. The basics: #patriotact, tracking via Twazzup, feedback via act.ly, retweeting (10-15 minutes)
3. Advanced topics: Tweetchat, 2gov (5 minutes if time permits)
4. Q&A (10 minutes)
If you're not already on Twitter, please sign up before the session. There's a getting-started page at http://get-fisa-right.wetpaint.com/page/If+you%27re+new+to+Twitter
See you there, I hope!

PS: If you can't make it to either of these, we'll have some additional sessions in the next couple of weeks.
