Description
In anticipation of the release of a new catalogue in December 2009, Dr. Weller will richly-illustrate the history of the collection, provide an overview of its highlights, and examine the role played by William Valentiner, the Museum's first director, in shaping the holdings of Dutch and Flemish paintings.
Presented by the North Carolina Museum of Art and the Center for Women in the Arts at Meredith College, this lecture is the third of a nine-part series to reacquaint people with the Museum's collection and introduce new works of art that will be seen for the first time when the new building opens.
Doors open 30 minutes prior to each lecture. Lectures are free and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
