"Does Jesus Have Blue Eyes?"
Many of the injustices suffered by Native Americans have been carried out under the name of Christianity, which has created a gap between the two. Today Michael Peters works to bridge the worlds of Christianity and the Anishnaabe tradition in order to “bring the fire of the Holy Spirit into the Native culture.” As Executive Director of Sabaoth Ministries, located in Grand Rapids, Peters organizes sacred “gatherings” as a way for urban Natives to “reclaim and experience the beauty of our heritage for the glory of the Creator.”
