Wednesday 2nd December

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

The last Writer's Block of 2009 marks a chance to celebrate a creatively charged year, while giving back by donating 100% of proceeds and raising awareness for the Boyhood to Manhood Foundation. Kick start the festive season with a line up of poetry pioneers, and music maestros. Plus, for the first time this year, we open the mic to YOU. Come down, sign up and perform, or kick back and enjoy the show, knowing your entry fee has gone away towards helping someone. Plus, in true pre-festive spirit, we'll be in full celebration mode. Seriously, come.

► Polarbear ::: http://www.myspace.com/polarbearspoken

It's a pleasure to be able to announce the performance of Polarbear for the first time at Writer's Block. A firm favourite at festivals up and down the country, Polar Bear's relatable, rapid-fire wordplay makes him an enthralling act to witness.

► shortMAN:::http://www.myspace.com/shortmanuk

Founder of the former-now legendary- V.O.I.C.Express show in Brixton, shortMAN could easily be cited as a much regarded UK spoken word scene pioneer. His visions paved the way for many any artists such as Michaela Birth of a poet and more. His colourful lyrical style and fearless resolve to tackling heart felt issues are what set shortMAN apart and certify him as one of the most exciting spoken wordists for miles. word.

► Ade Omotayo:::

Perhaps known best for his current role as backing singer of Amy Winehouse, Ade Omatayo is an absolutely stellar vocalist in his own right. Ade's silky vocals blessed the Writer's Block stage mid 2008 and remains one of our most talked about performers since. Prepare to be wowed.

One more special act TBC. Yes, really!
