Every year in December,Shanonside Astronomy Club receive calls and emails from the public asking all sorts of questions about the 'Christmas Star'

This December, Club Chairman Frank Ryan Jr will talk about the
origins and popularization of the story of the 'Star'
or the 'Star of Bethlehem' as it is sometimes called.
He will take an objective look at the biblical text,dating system, actual astronomical records & understanding of celestial mechanics at the time
to develop some theories as to what the 'Star' may or may have not been.

This one hour lecture is open to everybody and suitable for all ages.
Free for first time attendees.

Meeting will commence at 8PM - 9PM with a run through using planetarium software
on projector of what to look out for in the nights sky in December by
our observing guru, Dave Lillis.
Followed by Frank at 9PM until 10PM with 'The Christmas Star' lecture.
