**The Party is on rain-or-shine...we have multiple tents up and lots of food/drinks/give-aways for you**
The Duke Alumni Association invites you to kick the year off right! Forever Duke is a university wide party to welcome you back to campus: there will be live music, free food and beer (for those of age), all surrounded by an unbeatable block party atmosphere to make the First Day of Classes something to look forward to. All students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends are invited! The event is being done in collaboration with: Duke Alumni Association, Duke Annual Fund, Student Alumni Advisory Board, Black Student Alliance, Campus Council, each class council and many more!
Additionally - we will have many give-aways...
Freshman - come to the party to pick up your copy of the Class of 2012 Pic-Book. You might remember mailing in a picture for this book - it is a hard copy book "yearbook" for the class of 2012. We will have copies for all members of the class.
Sophomores - Did you know that after two semesters you are officially an "alumni" and forever a member of the Duke family? In honor of this, the Alumni Association and Annual Fund will be distributing Class of 2011 t-shirts. (Only 400 t-shirts will be available)
** Sophomores - Remember to first go to the Welcome Back 2011 Picnic @ CI-Main Quad from 5:30pm **
Juniors - Although many members of the class will be abroad, we couldn't forget those of you who are here! The Alumni Association and 2010 Class Council will be distributing Class of 2010 Frisbees, and we are talking about nice 175's. (Only 200 frisbees will be available)
Seniors, Grad & Professional Students and Staff - As y'all are of-age, we originally planned for the beer garden to be your gift. But now with a generous donation from the athletic department, we will be distributing 1,000 vintage Duke Physical Education t-shirts.
** Seniors - remember that at 5:00 PM, the Career Center will be hosting its annual Senior Kickoff event in the Von Canon rooms in the Bryan Center. **
Alumni - Last but not least!! We hope you will come to campus for the evening and help us kick off the school year. For you, we have 200 vintage Duke PE sweatshirts, they are pretty fantastic, so I would get to the party early to get one!
Parking will be available in the gravel lot on Duke University Road and buses will be running from East Campus.
