Description
If you plan to be out of town on Tuesday, November 4 (Election Day), now is the time to apply for an absentee ballot.
You may vote absentee IF one of the following applies:
a) You have voted before at your current address;
b) You registered to vote in person at your city hall or through a Secretary of State branch (including the mobile branch); OR
c) You apply for an absentee ballot in person at your city hall.
On the form you will indicate a reason why you'll need an absentee ballot (i.e. you plan to be out of town).
Technically you have until Saturday, November 1, to apply for an absentee ballot; however, it is STRONGLY recommended that you apply for one as soon as you know that you won't be able to vote at your polling place on Election Day.
Absentee ballots are now available! So if you stop by your local clerk's office and request one, you will get one on the spot!
So go to michigan.gov/vote and click on 'Absentee Voting.' Turn in that form to your city or township hall, and you should receive your absentee ballot shortly thereafter!
