Description
NOTE: While feel free to publicize & participate in the MeshWalk here, go to http://meshwalk.meshforum.org to register - participation is by invite only & is $25 to cover parking & meals.
A MeshWalk is a walking conference held outdoors and in motion, it is an event designed to spark conversations and discussions in small groups.
On July 25th join us for a day in and around Palo Alto at the heart of Silicon Valley.
We will start the day at Stanford outside of Mitchell (all day parking is included with registration) where the MeshWalk will be joined by a half dozen+ angel investors. The morning will be a chance to meet with serious, local Angels and learn about their process. It is also a time to talk about all aspects of taking an idea and turning it into a business.
For lunch we will walk down to downtown Palo Alto where two local startups, SocialText and Edgeio (as well as SoftTechVC) will host us.
The lunch and indeed most of the costs of the MeshWalk are sponsored by Mohr Davidow Ventures.
After lunch we will head to MDV's offices along Sand Hill Road (probably by bus due to safety concerns along Sand Hill) There the MeshWalk will be joined by partners at MDV, other early stage VC's, experts on startup finance from SVB. A couple of people will also join the walk who are from large companies (including Google) where they help evaluate and acquire other companies.
And we'll end the day with a party.
I hope you can join me at the MeshWalk.
A few reminders:
- leave the laptops & bags at home, no presentations will happen on the MeshWalk and bags & notecards will be provided
- wear comfortable clothes (July in Palo Alto is warm) and don't forget a hat and sunscreen
- bring your camera and portable recording devices (if small and easy to carry)
- no pitching. The MeshWalk is not everyone pitching everyone else (or at least the investors), rather it is a chance to talk with people, to learn, to share.
- But most of all come for fun & serious learning.
