Description
No on Prop 8 Rally
November 2nd, Pershing Square.
Bring your own signs or use ours. Our goal is to be visible, and educate passersby on the meaning and impact of this proposition.
FYI - this rally will be blocks from a Yes on 8 "multi-ethnic, family" rally at City Hall. We're not there to clash with them, but we are there to say that we won't be silenced.
Make sure you get out the word and invite all your friends to this event. Email for more information: rootsofequality@gmail.com
Chastity Bono will be attending and speaking at the rally. Bono is an LGBT rights advocate, writer, actress and musician. She is the daughter of the Sonny Bono and Cher.
Diane Olson and Robin Tyler will be speaking at the rally. Olson and Tyler were the original lesbian plaintiffs who started the marriage equality lawsuit that ended up winning equal rights for gays and lesbians at the California Supreme Court last May.
Because of this, the County of Los Angeles awarded Robin & Diane a special license to be the first and only couple married in LA County on June 16,2008.
