Description
Wynton Marsalis astounds us without playing a note in his first symphonic composition, Blues Symphony, an ASO-commissioned world premiere. Gershwin brought jazz to the concert hall with works like An American in Paris, and the popularity of jazz quickly spread around the globe. We'll also hear a sparkling jazz-infused concerto by Ravel and a driving Bernstein work featuring jazz clarinet.
